All About Reviews

As I work on trying to get my brand exactly where I want it to be, I wanted to offer full transparency to you, my readers, regarding my review score system. I felt this was needed as any reviews prior August 21st are presented using a scale of one to five.

I’ve changed how I score and I want to be open about how the process now works.

The Score You See

On That Jersey Gamer, the score you see posted on any review on the site will be presented using a 10 star system going forward. I decided that this was for the best as sites like Metacritic do also work off of a ten star system. Personally, I do find scoring on this scale to be a little difficult, however.

The beauty of rating on a five star system is that the ratings are easily convertible. On my end, I’ll review as I always do and then simply convert the score to the ten star system. For full transparency, the conversion is simply multiplying by two. For example, a game that scores a 3.5 review from me will be presented as a 7 out of 10.

The first review to be impacted by this is my Diablo III Loot Goblin Amiibo Unboxing and Review. That Amiibo originally received a score of 4 out of 5 which will now be represented as an 8 out of 10.

My Review Guarantee

Being a small site, I want to try and help promote newer creators as much as I can. I promise to always make it clear in the review if what I am writing about was received for free by the developer, publisher, or a public relations representative for any of those parties.

In those cases, I do promise to still give an open and honest review. If there’s one thing I pride myself on, it’s that I am not afraid to say when something is bad, just as I don’t hesitate to praise something when its good.

I hope you enjoy the review that I post on this site–I enjoy doing them. I love playing games and reading comics but I also love to take a critical eye to them and see what works and what doesn’t. I hope you have as much fun reading my reviews as I do writing them!
